This lets the app see the pay types set up for your employees in QuickBooks Payroll. It is view only.
How to spot it
On a QuickBooks Online connection or settings screen, this is payroll.compensation.read.
With it, an agent can
- See the pay types (compensation) set up for your employees, so hours can be tied to the right one.
It cannot, on its own
- Change pay types or run payroll.
What a bad day looks like
If the agent shares what it reads, details about how your employees are paid could reach the wrong person.
Set it up safer
- Only approve it for tools that handle time tracking or payroll for you.
