Stripe permission, in plain English

What can an AI agent do with
Connect with Stripe (read_write)?

This connects your Stripe account to the company's platform. The platform can then use Stripe in your account on your behalf, for example to accept payments, set up recurring billing, and read account data. Records it creates show up in your account.

How to spot it

On a Stripe connection or settings screen, this is read_write.

Strongest thing it allows: Can move money.

With it, an agent can

  • Make requests in your account using the platform's own key
  • Create payments in your account
  • Set up recurring billing
  • Check your account balance
  • Create records like charges, customers, and invoices that appear in your account

It cannot, on its own

  • Once disconnected, the platform cannot reach your account through the Dashboard or the API

What a bad day looks like

If the platform is misused, it could create payments or records in your account that you never asked for.

Set it up safer

Thinking about a specific agent?

Tell us what it connects to, what it is allowed to do and who approves its work. You get a plain-language label of what it can touch and what to ask the seller. It takes a couple of minutes, and your answers stay in your browser unless you choose to post a test job.

Or have a person go through the AI apps on up to 3 of your business services with you and get a written report, for $249.

This page explains what a permission allows. It does not describe, test or rate any product. Permission details are summarized in our own words from the provider's documentation, linked on the page; providers change their documentation, so check the source before you rely on a detail.
